Dodie oversees office operations and helps set the tone of welcoming, comforting, positivity that our patients have come to expect. Prior to becoming Office Manager, Dodie spent years working at Dr. Polanco’s side as his Dental Assistant. Her clinical experience gives her a deep understanding of the many facets of efficient practice management.
Before entering the dental field in 2012, Dodie worked in Cosmetology. A Licensed Esthetician, Dodie has played a key role in helping establish Community Dental’s Facial Aesthetics practice. Dodie made the transition into dentistry because she was fascinated by the field and its impact on overall health and wellness. The most gratifying thing about her job is giving people a reason to smile. With her understanding, compassionate, calming personality, that is something that happens several times a day!
Dodie was born and raised in Fort Myers. Dodie has two beautiful daughters, one of whom is following in her mother’s footsteps by studying to enter the dental field as a Hygienist. Dodie enjoys long weekends at the beach or travelling with family and friends. Her charitable work includes volunteering at Dentistry from the Heart since its inception in 2014 and causes focused on helping the homeless
Patient Care Coordinator
Tina is the cheerful voice you hear when you call Community Dental Care and the bright smile you see when you visit. Her warm, friendly attitude helps set patients at ease from the moment they walk through the door. With over 10 years in dentistry, Tina handles calls coming into the practice, scheduling, and patient check-in and check-out with smooth efficiency. Tina enjoys watching the transformation of patient smiles and seeing their joy as they leave the office with their new, bright smiles.
Tina is a Florida native and lifelong resident who enjoys spending time with her husband and two children in her off time. She donates time to Dentistry from the Heart.
Debbie is our resident insurance guru. She uses her considerable expertise in insurance, gained over a dental career spanning 30+ years, to help patients get the absolute most out of their dental benefits. Debbie is deeply compassionate and takes great pleasure in eliminating the stress of dealing with insurance for her patients. The highlight of her job, other than helping patients, is watching how patient smiles improve as they work with the practice.
Originally from Flint, Michigan, Debbie lived in Charlotte, North Carolina before finally setting in Florida 18 years ago. She is married with a daughter, four stepsons, four grandchildren, and a dog. Her hobbies include going to the gym, going to the beach, crafting and hiking. Debbie has been a Girl Scout Leader and currently volunteers with the SWFL Council of the Blind. She participates in the Dentistry from the Heart day of free dentistry for Fort Myers area residents each year.
JoAnne has been with Community Dental Care for over 20 years. Because of her compassionate, caring approach, she has developed relationships with many long-term patients who have come to view Community as their dental home. JoAnne strives to understand her patients’ needs and alleviate any fear or anxiety they may have so they can have their best dental health. A skilled patient educator, she keeps her patients informed about their periodontal health and how to maintain their smiles at home.
JoAnne is a native of Orlando. She served in the US Army and was stationed in Florida, Tennessee, and Korea. She settled in Fort Myers 20 years ago. She and her husband have a daughter, three grandsons, a cat and a dog. In her free time, she loves to read British murder mystery books and do projects to beautify and maintain the inside and outside of her home.
Through her church, JoAnne has taken numerous missionary trips to Kenya to educate AIDs orphans about proper dental care. She also volunteers at Dentistry from the Heart, providing free cleanings to patients in need.
Isaura, CDA, EFDA
Isa’s mother was a Dental Assistant and she chose to follow in her footsteps, when she started her career in 2009. She approaches her work with compassion, sensitivity, and a great sense of humor. It is hard not to smile when Isa is around because she radiates positivity. Isa is passionate about dentistry and that enthusiasm shines through when she is working with patients. She is especially skilled at fabricating temporaries so that patients can smile with confidence while they await their permanent dentures, bridges, or crowns. Isa takes great joy in connecting her patients with smile makeovers and seeing how their happiness when the process is complete.
Born in Cuba, Isa and her family came to Florida when she was 6 years old. When she isn’t busy helping her patients smile, she enjoys spending time with her beautiful daughter, skating, dancing, and trying new, exciting things. She has volunteered for Dentistry from the Heart event since it was founded in 2014. Isa is bilingual and fluent in Spanish.
Brandy brings expanded knowledge of dental assisting to her role, with specializations in radiology, oral surgery, and orthodontics. Her cheerful demeanor and unfailing optimism put her patients at ease. Brandy assists the dentist in helping her patients smile and makes sure they understand each step of their treatment. She helps the dentist stay on schedule so patient wait time is minimized. Brandy takes great satisfaction in educating patients so they gain a new perspective on dental care and in watching how their outlooks improve along with their smiles.
Brandy was born and raised in North Fort Myers. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, including her fiancé and her daughter. Her hobbies include kayaking, swimming, and photography. She gives back to the community by donating her skills as a photographer to a local cancer foundation and volunteering at Dentistry from the Heart.
Lorie chose Dental Assisting because she wanted to use her fun, upbeat personality to help people and fabricating temporaries gives her an opportunity to create with her hands. With over 30 years in the field, she brings the expertise only experience can provide. In addition to her dental credentials, Lorie is a Certified Medical Assistant and is CT and Radiology Certified. Lorie approaches her patients with kindness, compassion, and an upbeat attitude. She is at her best when a patient arrives feeling fearful and like their situation is hopeless. Lorie’s warmth and humor quickly win them over as she works to gain their trust. For Lorie, witnessing the progression of increased confidence as these patients’ smiles transform over treatment makes it all worthwhile.
Lorie was born in New York and travelled all over during her 12 years of service in the US Air Force before finally settling in Florida. Lorie and her significant other are animal lovers and share their home with a dog and five cats. In her leisure time she likes to play guitar, fish, sketch, and spend time with her significant other. She is also an amateur photographer whose favorite subject is dolphins. While living in St. Petersburg, she volunteered her skills to Give Kids a Smile. Here in the North Fort Myers area, she volunteers with Dentistry from the Heart.
As a child Dee always loved going to the dentist so when she decided on a medical career, dentistry was the obvious choice. She has been in dentistry for almost 20 years. Dee is especially skilled at working with nervous patients and those with dental anxiety. She helps ease their fears and build trust so that their anxiety does not stand in the way of them maintaining their best oral health. Her greatest satisfaction is when a patient leaves happy, and with a big smile.
A Florida native, Dee is married with two children. She enjoys boating with her family and her puppy. She has been involved in scouting and hosts an exchange student every summer. She volunteers her time at Dentistry from the Heart.
